Alabama was haunted by missed field goals for numerous years under the Nick Saban regime in Tuscaloosa. In 2019, a kicker from an hour away in Hoover stepped foot on campus and changed Alabama’s kicking reputation.

Will Reichard was ranked the No. 1 kicker in the 2019 recruiting cycle, but Alabama fans were convinced even the best high school kicker would suffer the fate of his predecessors. In his freshman season, Reichard faced several responsibilities as the kickoff and extra point specialists, field goal taker, but also the punter on occasion.
