There’s no need to invoke religious imagery after a football game, but you can understand it because we all went to church Saturday night. And the congregation said “Amen” deep into the evening after watching a historic game between the two best programs in the country. And a pair of freshmen No. 2s rescued Alabama over Georgia with a 41-34 come-from-behind win in a rivalry that produces more punch than any other in the sport.
Seventeen-year-old wide receiver Ryan Williams caught the game-winning touchdown and cornerback Zabien Brown sealed it with a end zone interception that turned away the Bulldogs with under a minute remaining. Both wear No. 2. Both are freshman. Both played beyond their years in as pressure-filled moments as you can imagine.
